It is hot out there and it's not officially summer yet! *wipes the sweat off my brow* Sigh, the life of living in Phoenix, right? You would think I would be used to it after 18 years but not at all. We have two seasons: Summer and Almost Summer. This is Emma's last week of school and next week is the start of summer program. You know what the means? I need to have yummy snacks on hand. I need to keep her busy before it's time for the center to come pick her up and she needs to snack on some yummy treats. I picked up some Pepperoni Hot Pockets and Dreyer's (Edy's for those of you on the other side of the Rockies) Outshine bars from Walmart's freezer section to have on hand as snacks!
Since it was a three day weekend due to Memorial Day, we were able to get so much done and still have down time to play. On Saturday, we went to a few stores with Emma's caregiver, Sunday we met friends for lunch and then went to the mall and on Monday, we decided to get some play time in at the park in my apartment complex (it was too hot the other days by the time we got home) and it was nice to get out there and play and enjoy the cool mid-morning air.
Afterwards, to help her cool down and have a delicious snack- we decided to snack on our Outshine bars that are made with real fruit (or fruit juice). I had purchased the Tangerine Carrot variety of the Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars and the Creamy Coconut.
Emma chose the coconut and I scored the Tangerine Carrot.
Mmmmm Such a refreshing snack especially in this heat!
You know what else we like to have on hand for a protein packed snack?
Hot Pockets. Especially the pepperoni kind which is full of premium meats and cheeses.
Sssshhhhhh. Don't tell anybody but I love to snack on a Hot Pocket when I am up late and catching up on my shows (i.e., True Blood, Game of Thrones, etc.).
Now that summer is almost here (it's already here in Arizona! Haha)- what do you and your kids like to snack on?
