#DisneyFrozen: Sing-A-Long!

I am so geeked out for the Frozen Sing-A-Long!
Seriously.

Are you going to go? I think we will! Emma has been begging to see Frozen again so I think we just have to go and just SING-A-LONG!

You can buy tickets here and here.

Right Frontal Lobe Shenanigans

There are some days that my Emma just knocks me over with her insight, wittiness and her humor.

Today is one of those days when her random thoughts knock me over with laughter.

Hump Day Music: Beck

via

A blogger's work is never done.  I just want to say that.  I am going to be moving to Self Hosted WordPress next month some time (still researching which hosting service I am going to use and I am trying to decide if I will change my blog name or not and what new layout I want.  Choices, choices, choices).  I am also building my editorial calendar.  I decided to stop "Monday Music" and that means I need to clean up my labels, tabs and images and I feel kinda lazy about that.  I have been going through a lot of old posts (as in since 2007 posts...) and fixing links (changing to "no follow"), images, and even deleting some old posts.  This is a never ending task.  Ha ha.  With that being said, I want to talk about Beck Hansen and why I am obsessed with his music.

Comment Hell!

Over the weekend I installed IntenseDebate so I can have CommentLuv because Blogger's commenting system is driving me insane.

Now... commentluv is on some posts and not on others.  I have a comment that I received in my email (notification) but it's not on my post, neither is Commentluv.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

It's seriously time to move to WP!

BlogLovin + Stats + Google Plus

Are you on Bloglovin?

I absolutely adore it.  I don't like their mobile version BUT it's easy enough to switch to their desktop version.  Let me back up a bit, I don't like their mobile version when it comes to trying to view my stats and such but to get on there and read blogs, I like the mobile version just fine.

I never really used Google Reader, so it's demise really didn't bother me as much as it did for some.  Admittedly, I just used my Blogger Dashboard.  However, as I am working towards growth and moving my blog to Self Hosted WordPress in the near future, I was looking for ways to have my blog followers not be really affected by any move I make and Bloglovin is a great reader.  I find the feeds, interface and all around user friendly.  I like it's clean look and the ease of being able to find blogs to read.   Over all, just extremely user friendly and visually simple.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Last week, I finally finished my re-read of Flowers in the Attic.  Oh. my. goodness.  Although I still remember the entire premise even though I had read it over 20 years ago, the emotional impact and the overwhelming inability to put it down is still there.  Although I am, obviously, quite a bit older than I was when I first read it, I was still sucked into the story and I definitely caught different cues now than I did many years ago.  I thought other things happened in the first book that didn't happen until probably the second book.  For some reason, I thought Chris practiced medical procedures he read in the books in the attic on Cathy but I was definitely wrong.  I thought the D&C he performed on Cathy happened in Flowers but I am guessing it happened in Petals in the Wind.

I am fairly certain I have mentioned that my sister has had some house drama for the last two years.  First, it began with a broken pipe that caused massive damage.  Then came the two-plus years of fighting her homeowners insurance to FIX the house back to its original state.  She's been living in a rental home (first they had her in a hotel, then they had her in a different rental and now she's in the one she's in now) right next door to her house.  She's been going back and forth.  She's been through HELL and back trying to get back into HER home.  She's had to give up many things and face many struggles during this process but damn, I'm impressed.  I would have given up but not my sister, she's fought them tooth and nail.

Terrible Parenting Confessions + Haim + Blogging

A triple threat? I think yes.

My birthday was on January 10th and I turned the ripe old age of thirty...something.

Got Pit Stains? Remove Pit Stains Now!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Keep calm! I have located an awesome pit stain remover. As you well know, I live in Phoenix.  Our summers are brutal.  I am not kidding.  I have lived in high humidity areas and although it's miserable, there's nothing as crushing as extreme heat.  With that said, a lot of my white shirts have yellowed stains in the armpit area.  Grossssssssssssssss.

Happy Birthday To Me + Ugly Food.

Last Friday was my birthday.  There were parades in my honor.  I kissed babies. Confetti everywhere! Champagne was flowing!  It was a great day.

Oh wait.

That was a movie.  Darn it!

Food: Slow Cooker Mojo Criollo Pork

Food photography is HARD.  I want to, right now, give a standing ovation to food bloggers and food photographers.  It's so hard to take a photo of food and achieve the following goals: show off the beauty of it, make it look edible, have it look desirable and activate smellivision.  Okay, Smellivision is a dream but I know you know what I mean- you look at a photo of the food and you can practically smell and taste it.  Amazing.  So... like I said, KUDOS to you all! Amazing.  Serious respect here!

#FlowersInTheAttic 2014!

Bam! Check out the new cover! How awesome is that? I do love the new cover but I must admit, I still feel some sentimentality for the original cover (I like a face on a cover but that's just me).  I am loving the reprint! Woot!

Super Cute Valentine's Ideas!

Valentine's Day is literally right around the corner.  I want to do something unique and cute this year for Emma besides the usual box of valentine cards.

Check out how cute these are!

It's January...

My birthday is Friday.  I am closing in on 40 (eeks!).

Money Saving: Lunch Containers

One of my 2014 goals is to be able to get a lot of my debt paid down and have my credit good enough to at least qualify for a mortgage.  I may not BUY this year but definitely want to have my finances in really good shape.  One of my goals is also to cook at home more (which I have been getting better at since the latter part of 2013) and to take my lunch to work more often.

A new 2014 goal has been added to my list: better organization. I have been a bad, bad girl.  The life of a special needs child creates a mountain of paperwork, procedures, medications and specialists.  It also takes a lot of organization.  Lots and LOTS of organization.  This last year, I am not sure what happened but I lost control of things and for the first time in years- we've missed appointments (like- no call, no shows) and have had to reschedule because of my not keeping better track of appointments.  It was terrible.  I work in the medical field and I know better.  However, thankfully, all of her providers have been involved in her care since day one (or close to it!) so they know this isn't typical behavior from us.  What brought this really to the forefront? We use our Walgreens and their refill reminders service.  I received my text messages asking me if I wanted to refill Emma's prescriptions and I replied to confirm yes.  (I seriously LOVE this service!)

Monday Music: Ariana Grande

Welcome to Monday!

A new week.  New start.  And... procrastination.  Mondays are tough.  It's even tougher after ending a Holiday break! Now, it's back to the grind.

Crap! Ha.

I'm an idiot.

I decided to play around with my layout.  I forgot to backup my template.  Whoops!

I will have to play around a bit to get my design back.

Face. Palm.
