This Veteran's Day, Support Veterans with Baskin-Robbins and the USO

This post was sponsored by Baskin-Robbins but as always, my opinion and my gratitude this Veteran's Day is my own.

This Veteran's Day, Support Veterans with Baskin-Robbins and the USO

As you know, two of my brothers have served in the military.  One is still active duty and is career Special Forces.  My other brother was in the National Guard and was injured during his first deployment to Iraq in 2003 and is now a disabled veteran.   This Veteran's Day I am extra humbled.

Last Monday, I gave my brother a ride to the VA hospital.  Typically when I have taken him, I drop him off and he will text me to come back for him but because he was being seen on an urgent issue, I opted to stay inside the ER waiting room while he gets taken care of.  Sitting there, I was humbled.  I was reminded just how much our soldiers have given to our country.

Many gave their lives.

Many gave their minds.

Many gave their physical abilities, their limbs, their brains, etc.

Many came from the streets because they were sick and needed medicine, some coming in because they were out their medications, whatever the reason- many walked through the door.Men and women alike.  Young and old.  Physically disabled or mentally ill.  Some with healthy bodies but minds that need a little bit of peace.

When I learned that in honor of Veterans,  Baskin-Robbins will donate 11 cents from every ice cream scoop sold on Veterans Day to the USO in honor of all service members, veterans and their families, I hopped on the opportunity to share this with YOU, my readers.

What is the USO?

The USO strengthens America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. For nearly 75 years, the USO, a private, nonprofit organization, has served the men and women in the U.S. military and their families throughout their service – from the moment they join, through their deployments and as they transition back to their communities. Learn more about the USO at uso.org.

Baskin-Robbins was founded in 1945 and is the world's LARGEST chain of ice cream specialty shops with more than  7,400 retail shops in nearly 50 countries, including nearly 2,500 shops in the United States.  Baskin-Robbins offers an extensive library of ice cream flavors, customizable ice cream cakes, frozen beverages and sundaes

Praline and Butter Pecan are my old stand by flavors and Baskin-Robbins always kills it. The rich, creamy ice cream and flavors that send you in to ecstasy are golden standards.
